PhD reading: Research Methods for HCI

Today, I have finished the reading of Research Methods for Human-Computer Interaction. It gives you a nice overview about the research methods for HCI but if you want know more about each method you should go for further literature (each chapter has a further reading section).  Personally, I strongly recommend the reading of chapter 9 (Theoretical analysis and theory creation), by Alan Dix, and chapter 10 (Write now!), by Harold Thimbleby, for final MSc students and first year PhD student that will research, fully or partially, on HCI topics.  Chapter 9 is perfect to make you think about your research work and research in general. 😉
